Executive management at Accsys, a national supplier of payroll, HR, Time & Attendance and Access Control solutions, has emphasised the importance of skills development within payroll administration and human resources by offering a sponsored eLearning bursary at the annual South African Payroll Association National Conference.
This year Marie Struwig, from the Department of Provincial Local Government, was drawn as the lucky winner of the bursary, valued at R22 000.
The bursary allows for a candidate to study and complete the two-year National Diploma in Payroll Administration Services. This is an NQF Level 5 qualification, recognised as the highest level available in the payroll industry.
This is the third year in succession that Accsys is sponsoring this prize. The company continues to use its position in the marketplace to stress the importance of addressing skills shortages, of effective training and recruitment processes and procedures.
“We are delighted to be part of this ongoing initiative and to continue to offer the benefits of this bursary to the market,” says Teryl Schroenn, CEO at Accsys. “In addition to the importance and value we attach to our affiliation with the Payroll Association, we endorse efforts to develop skills and contribute to effective recruitment and job creation within payroll administration”
“This is taking place at a time when skills, system knowledge, human resource development and corporate governance remain critical elements of the country’s socio-economic framework,” adds Schroenn.
Speaking on behalf of the South African Payroll Association, James McKerrell, Director and Chairman, said the bursary represents a substantial contribution to the growth and development of the HR and payroll industry.
“The contribution of our members to the industry is paramount to sustainability and value-add within the HR and payroll markets. We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing role played by Accsys and the benefits of this bursary and its significant advantage to those eager to improve their skills,” says McKerrell.
