Accsys shines as CIO nominated as a finalist at CSSA Awards

Liam Terblanche, CIO at Accsys, a national supplier of payroll, HR, Time & Attendance and Access Control solutions, has been recognised for his individual contribution to local ICT and solution development and named as a finalist nominee for the title of Visionary CIO of the Year at the annual Computer Society of South Africa Visionary CIO Awards.

In his capacity as chief information officer at Accsys, an established service provider targeting the HR, payroll administration, time & attendance and access control markets, Terblanche is directly responsible for the development and successful implementation of solutions designed to enhance control over these key areas of business management.

Terblanche was nominated as one of three finalists for the award, including the Head of the Internet Channel, Absa Bank, and CEO of the Mobile and Transact Solutions Division, FNB.

A major component of his portfolio within the company’s executive management requires proactive, consistent attention to existing and emerging global technology trends.

These have to be considered in relation to what is currently available in the local market, the differentiators for Accsys and its offering, and what the strategy is to ensure that the company retains its leadership position in this competitive area of information technology systems application and integration.

Additionally, Terblanche is tasked with ensuring the highest quality and reliability in the company’s locally developed range of product, as well as maintaining an unrivaled level of premium service to clients in order to maximise benefits of technology investment.

“I am very honoured to have been nominated amongst top finalists competing for this award, it is encouraging and has come at a time when companies the world over are scrutinising the real value they derive from technology application and system development. I believe that, whilst I am exceptionally happy to receive this accolade and it is a personal achievement, it is indeed more a reflection of what the company has instilled as a general service standard to the marketplace,” says Terblanche.

Teryl Schroenn, CEO at Accsys, has extended her congratulations on behalf of the company to Terblanche and welcomed the news of another very significant overall achievement by a member of Accsys’ staff (representatives of the company’s executive management have twice received awards from the Businesswomen’s Association).

“We are very proud of our service offering to the local market and into Africa. This is an exceptionally competitive area of information and communication technology trade, and it is systems, when combined with other key resources, that make a critical difference to businesses in the current worldwide socio-economic climate. We are immensely proud of Liam and his achievement, which reflects very powerfully on the calibre of representation within the company and the value we as an organisation transfer to the marketplace,” said Schroenn.
