Management and members of staff from Accsys, a national supplier of payroll, HR, time & attendance and access control solutions, have again come out in strong support of the annual Discovery 702 Walk the Talk charity event.

On Sunday 25 July company representatives joined crowds of participants at the Mark Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, Johannesburg, in their fifth walk and year of support for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

The event is considered to be one of the largest of its kind and regularly draws the participation of thousands of members of the public, 702 Talk Radio presenters, as well as Foundation ambassadors including Lucas Radebe, Baby Jake Matlala and Shaun Pollock.

As is the case every year, proceeds from this year’s Walk the Talk will go directly towards the benefit of the Foundation, which has at its chief objective the use of sport as a platform to initiate positive social change.

Discovery is the founder member of the South African arm of the Foundation.

Teryl Schroenn, CEO at Accsys, described the day as a great success and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to social upliftment through an established, focused corporate social investment program.

“We are proud of our track record in the application and development of our social investment program. Aside from business development and industry-driven initiatives, such as the Cell C Bring a Girl Child to Work Day and Accsys Boys in Business Day, our company has also demonstrated its commitment to social welfare through donation to various community welfare organisations and regular contribution to the South African National Blood Service,” says Schroenn.

“Whilst we continue to successfully entrench the value of our service to local and international human resource management and technology application, we are also recognised for our contribution towards people development. This event offers a credible, regulated and effective platform from which to support social upliftment. As we have just witnessed with the FIFA World Cup Finals, sport is truly a unifying aspect of life and area of South African society,” she adds.
