Access to technology, innovation to safeguard resources – Securex 2010

The advent of legislation to govern data storage and exchange, increasingly tech-savvy criminals and economic pressure that forces a more astute approach to resource management has ensured higher levels of attendance at the annual Securex exhibition.

This is the view of management at Accsys, a national supplier of payroll, HR, Time & Attendance and Access Control solutions.

Representatives from the company used the show, held recently at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, to demonstrate Accsys’ capability and its technical achievement, particularly within the areas of time & attendance and access control.

Time & attendance and access control are two key areas of focus for the company and its continued development and integration of next generation infrastructure to boost people and resource management in business.

Solutions are used to control access and manage critical HR functions, including reporting on time management, leave management and sick leave.

The Securex exhibition is organised to identify and display the latest available information, communication and security technology.

It also serves as a platform for operators within trade and industry to network, apply marketing strategies and generate business leads.

Teryl Schroenn, CEO, Accsys, said it was clear from the nature of queries and the level of interaction with visitors at this year’s event that biometric-based infrastructure (specifically fingerprint reader infrastructure) has become more popular.

“We have noticed a significant rise in the interest in biometric-based infrastructure, especially within the retail and manufacturing sectors where effective control of people and resources is paramount. Last year we unveiled our PeopleWare Enterprise solution and promoted the fact that all functionality and application is integrated onto a single platform. We felt that this spoke to the heart of decision makers who are compelled to produce more with less and appreciate every bit of practicality and ease-of-use in investments,” explains Schroenn.
“It would be fair to say that we have worked hard to establish our position wit

hin the people management markets and that the effort has been worth every second. We continue to secure partnerships with key role players in the biometric space, such as neaMetrics, and have successfully rolled out what we believe to be sought-after, innovative and creative solutions that make a difference to our markets,” she adds.

As an example earlier this year Accsys and neaMetrics launched a portable biometric clock, developed by neaMetrics the SupreMobile, built on Suprema™ technology.
Since then the company has wasted little time in engaging with the market to advertise the qualities of biometric technology within the business.

“Once again we have been impressed with the standard of the Securex exhibition and it has certainly been a worthwhile investment. It has lived up to its reputation as a quality event that provides an accurate reflection of both current and emerging trends in this competitive industry,” says Schroenn.
