3rd August, 2016 a Public Holiday

Voting day, Wednesday 3rd August, has been officially declared a public holiday, as per a notice published by the Presidency on 24th June, 2016 (see here). Please remember to update your systems to reflect this!

Tax Season 2016

The filing season for individuals opened on Friday 1st July. Returns are due by 25th November for non-provisions tax payers. For provisional tax payers, using eFiling, returns are due by 31st January 2017.

Double Taxation Agreement with Lesotho

The 27th May 2016 saw the double taxation agreement between South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho come into force. This prevents the payment of double taxes, as well as evasion with regards taxes between the two countries. For more details, click here.

Kenyan Tax Changes

On 8th June the National Budget was presented by the Cabinet Secretary, and subsequently changes to the Finance Bill published. Malawi Tax Changes
